Mental health in schools - how can schools support students and employees?

Supporting student and employee well-being

Good mental health is important for helping children and young people to develop and thrive. Schools also have various legal duties in relation to the well-being of their staff and students. In this 1-hour live webinar, Liz Timmins, Legal Director in Doyle Clayton’s Education team and Sophie Kirk from the Holistic Healthcare Group discuss why addressing and supporting student and staff mental health is so important and, crucially, how schools can do this.

The webinar is suitable for head teachers, senior leaders, DSLs and HR working in primary and secondary schools, as well as anyone who is interested in supporting good mental health. 

Speakers

Liz Timmins is a solicitor in the Education team at Doyle Clayton and advises schools on their day-to-day legal issues, including handling staff disciplinaries and grievances, safeguarding concerns, pupils with special educational needs and disabilities and parent complaints.

Sophie Kirk from the Holistic Healthcare Group is on a mission to change the way mental health is viewed and approached in the UK. With over 10 years of experience, she has a background in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), The Science of Well-being and is an Anxiety UK Approved Practitioner.
