Theresa May has indicated that she intends to change the way big business is governed and to make it more accountable by including employee representatives on company boards.

She also indicated that she wants to make shareholder votes on executive pay binding, rather than merely advisory.and to see more transparency in executive pay.  She wants full disclosure of bonus targets and of the ratio between the chief executive’s and the average worker’s pay.

Her comments were made in her leadership launch speech, two days before she became prime minister.
