Small Increase in Tribunal Claims

Employment Tribunal statistics for the period October to December 2014 reveal a small increase in the number of claims in that quarter.

The number of single claims received by employment tribunals dropped by 12% compared to the same period the previous year but increased slightly compared to the previous quarter (July to September 2014). 

The statistics also included information on fee remission applications for the period 30 September 2013 to 30 September 2014. 11,338 issue fee remission and 2,494 hearing fee remission applications were made. Of these, about one third of the issue fee remission applications were successful compared with two thirds of hearing fee remission applications.
