Information Commissioner Issues Guidance to Help Employers Prepare for New Data Protection Laws

The Information Commissioner has called on employers to start preparing for EU General Data Protection Regulation and has a provided a 12 step guide.

The guide suggests that employers start planning their approach to compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and gain support from key staff, particularly as in larger organisations changes may have implications for budget, IT, personnel, governance and communications. 

The GDPR is expected to be in force by summer 2018.
