With effect from 5 April 2014 employers must display the 2009 approved health and safety poster. The 2009 version replaces the 1999 poster.

Employers have a legal duty under the Health and Safety Information for Employees Regulations to display the approved poster in a prominent position in each workplace or to provide each worker with a copy of the approved leaflet that outlines British health and safety law. Although a new poster was introduced in 2009, employers were able to continue to display the old version for a transitional period of 5 years. That period has now expired and the 2009 poster must now be displayed or or leaflet provided to workers.
