The Government has announced that closure of the childcare voucher scheme for new entrants has been postponed until October 2018.  It had been planning to close the scheme with effect from 6 April, although those already in receipt of childcare vouchers are not affected, so long as their employer continues to offer the scheme.

What’s happening to the childcare voucher scheme?

The childcare voucher scheme is being replaced by the Government’s tax-free childcare scheme which is already up and running. Parents of children under 12 can get up to £2,000 a year towards their childcare costs under this scheme.
