The Government has provided a revised timetable setting out when employers will have to comply with auto-enrolment and other pensions duties. Employers with 250 or more employees are unaffected by the change (and will still have staging dates between 1 October 2012 and 1 February 2014).
Those with between 50 and 249 employees will have staging dates between 1 April 2014 and 1 April 2015, with those employing 30 to 49 employees having to comply between 1 August 2015 and 1 October 2015 and those with less than 30 employees having to comply between 1 January 2016 and 1 April 2017.
Pension contributions for employers and employees will be phased in over time, with full contributions being payable from 1 October 2018.
